For over 5000 years, shepherds have inhabited these mountains of the Picos de Europa.
For the Mier brothers, shepherds since the age of 13, this is still their home.
Last year, they had to sell their flock of sheep. The wolf and the continuous administrative restrictions are causing the disappearance of livestock in these mountain ports… and with them, the shepherds.
In a place where many would struggle to survive, they enjoy life.
Fernando and Manolo are two of the last shepherds.
